February 2014 Favorites

We are already in March, so I thought I would show what products I used more last month. Here's a list with evereything that stood out to me on February.

Benefit box’o’powder in Rockateur
This is the newest addition to the Benefit blush collection. It came out last fall. It is a beautiful rosy-gold shade, not quite unique but universally-flattering. When I bought it, I didn’t think I would like it quite as much, but I actually do. It is shimmery but not glittery. As far as the lasting power, I would say it is medium (about 4 hours on my cheeks).

Benefit Hello Flawless! Oxygen Wow foundation
This is pretty much what I used on my face all month long. It is really lightweight, blendable and buildable. A little bit goes a long way. I have to set it with a powder, though, especially in the T-zone. It makes my skin look fresh and radiant, like I had been sleeping for 10 hours.

Essie in Parka Perfect
This is from Essie’s 2013 fall collection. I have been wearing THIS nail polish for two weeks in a row, which is pretty rare. I love this shade. It’s almost like a nude muted grayish green that really goes with anything and looks flattering.

Accessorize Masquerade Palette
I’m usually skeptical of cloth- and accessory- companies that do make up staff. I have tried a few in the past and I can’t say I was impressed. Despite that, I went ahead and bought this palette and I must say I am glad I did! It contains 16 eyeshadows, neutrals and colorful ones, in both matte and shimmery finish. It also contains 3 blushes, a bronzer and a powder. This is pretty much what I used for my eye makeup this month.

Too Faced Primed and Poreless face Primer
This is the face primer I am currently using. It is silicone-based, skin-colored and it is supposed to fill the pores. I cannot say that I am really impressed by that ( I actually prefer Benefit’s Porefessional for that task) but I really enjoy the way it makes my skin feel. Supersmooth and liquid foundation glides on it very easily.

Mac Select cover-up concealer/ corrector
I use this concealer by MAC for my under-eye area. It gives medium coverage but doesn’t get into the lines and stays put for at least 5-6 hours. It is not greasy; I recommend setting with a powder, though.

Essence Longlasting Lipstick- Natural Beauty
This is the lipstick I have been using in the morning. It is a rosy shade that goes with anything. I wouldn’t say it is really longlasting (maximum 3 hours on me) but for less than 3 Euros, what more could you ask for?

MUFE Aqua Rouge -8
OMG! The most beautiful, eye-catching, true red lipstick. It is indeed waterproof (it won’t fade even when you’re eating or drinking something). It lasts all day without getting flaky. People always ask me what I have on my lips when I wear this.

Essence Kalinka Beauty Blush
This is part of a recent collection. It looks quite intimidating in the pan, but it swatches subtle because it is not very pigmented. Beautiful vibrant coral shade.

Seventeen Longlasting Brow Pencin- 08 Almond
My current favorite eyebrow pencil. It looks super natural and matches my eyebrow color perfectly.

Mini Benefit haul

A few days ago all exclusive brands were 35% off at Sephora. Of course, I couldn’t resist and I had to get a couple of Benefit products (again!). You know, they are not often on sale, so I always grab a few extras when they are.

The POREfessional Agent Zero Shine
I was going to buy the 15-hour stay flawless primer but the Benefit lady told me it might not work on my super-oily nose and forehead. Instead, she introduced me the new Porefessional Agent Zero Shine (don’t you love those names?). It is a pro powder that mattifies, minimizes pores and absorbs oil. She told me that this, coupled with the Porefessional Primer would keep me shine-free for quite a while. Fingers crossed for that!

The Rich is Back!
I also got a new kit from Benefit in collaboration with fashion designer Matthew Williamson featuring some eyeshadow shades (I think they are exclusive to this kit), a highlighter/ blush, a mini lipgloss and a deluxe sample of They’re real! mascara. As mentioned on the product, it is a flash-back to the glamorous days of Disco!

I will do a separate review on these products, after playing around with them a little bit.
Thank you for reading!

10 products for 10€ Sephora Bag

Sephora has been running this offer for a while now: till the end of February you can get a bag of 10 full-sized products for 10€.

Take a look at what I got:

4 Sephora Beauty surprise crackers
4 crackers you pull to get one of the beauty gifts mentioned: 4-stage buffer, creamy body wash, eyeshadow, 3 black snap clips. I don’t know if you’re supposed to get all of these gifts, but my crackers were all EMPTY. Kinda frustrating…

Sephora Eyeliner patch
Self-adhesive winged eyeliner stickers for a perfect line in just a few seconds. I haven’t tried anything like this before. Can’t wait to try it.

Sephora nail patch for feet- 14 red carpet
Nailpolish stickers for toes for maximum shine and longlasting effect. have you tried them out already?

Sephora Glossy Gloss- 16 Tangy Bite
A purple-hued lip gloss that looks scary in the tub but once applied it looks very smooth and flattering on the lips. Plus, it has a very pleasant smell and a great taste (I know, we’re not supposed to eat any lipgloss of the lips…hahaha)

Sephora Express mini hair brush and mirror
Very practical for the handbag without taking up much space.

Sephora eye glitter and primer- 08. Holographic
I will save the glitter for special occasions but the primer does work with every eyeshadow. A big thumbs up for that!

Sephora nail patch sticker- 06 impeccable beige
Nail polish stickers for maximum shine and longlasting effect. I have always been skeptical of these but I will gladly try them. Plus the color looks very polished.

Sephora nail patch French manucure art- pink & purple
Nail polish stickers for shine, longwearing color and all that great stuff but I find the color combination quite scary (are we stuck in the 80s or something?)

Sephora nano eyeliner- 08 iced brown
Tiny eyeliner, beautiful color but it is a bit hard for the waterline. Longlasting without smudging. Great staff!

Sephora nano lipliner- 19 cool coral
Another tiny liner, this one is for lips. Frosty finish but still wearable. My only complaint is that the color is quite light and it doesn’t really show up in my rather pigmented lips.

A few swatches...

Top: left: eye gliiter on top of the primer. right: eye glitter without primer
Bottom: lip pencil, eye pencil, lipgloss

As you can see all my products were Sephora branded, which I personally didn’t mind. The only thing I wasn't happy about was that there was nothing in the crackers. Anyway I think it is a great value for your money and I definitely suggest you try it. I might buy myself another bag as well.

Have you tried it yet?

xoxo
